As part of the regional Fight Against Cardiovascular Diseases program, specialist doctors will see patients at the Chukotka Okrug Hospital. The doctors’ trips to different cities in the Chukotka Autonomous Region was organized by Avivir, alongside the regional government and the Chukotka Okrug Hospital.

As part of a training drive for regional medical staff and professional exchange among doctors, the Moscow-based specialists will hold a free public clinic at hospitals in Anadyr, Bilibino, Ugolnye Kopyi, Lavrenty, Providenie and Pevek.

Cardiologists, neurologists and an allergist-immunologist will conduct free consultations for patients and medical seminars. Appointment with medical specialists will be offered for those with cardiovascular diseases, as well as members of the general public who would like an exam. Each of the doctors will take up to 15 appointments a day, meaning that up to 375 patients will be able to see these specialists over the course of one week. Interested patients can make an appointment by phone in Anadyr by calling 2-32-37 or 2-32-25, and in Ugolnye Kopyi by calling 5-55-47.

"The cardiologists and neurologists will focus on complications from cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke, and the allergist-immunologist will see children in Anadyr and Ugolnye Kopyi, as we don’t currently have such a specialist in the local hospital," said an official from the regional. The chief physician of the Chukotka Okrug Hospital is Yulia Getsman.

Avivir has been closely cooperating with the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug for more than a year on a series of projects to improve the medical care offered to the region’s population. In the near future, a joint project between the company and the regional government will build an infectious disease clinic equipped with advanced medical equipment in Ugolnye Kopyi.
