The vaccine has completed three of four stages of trials, including pre-clinical (on animals) and clinical. Sputnik Light is currently in Phase III. On February 21, 2021, the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Ministry of Health and the Russian Foundation for Direct Investment launched a global study into the effectiveness of Sputnik Light. Phase III of clinical studies, involving 7,000 people in Russian, the UAE, Ghana and other countries, is underway

What’s in the vaccine?
The vaccine is a full copy of the first component of Sputnik-V and is produced through a biotechnological process, without the use of the pathogenic SARS-CoV-2 virus.
